It is my understanding from Azim and club management that they are replacing the entire sound system in the place and the way in which it's wired.
These complaints aren't new and they are finally doing something about it! |

Damn skippy!!! I had a great time even though the sound was tweaking out. Not much I could have done guys, sorry to say because it was out of my hands and yes, I did notice the outrageous rumbling, but what the hell! I can't really fix the sound system nor how it's set up. I can only do what I do best---rock the crowd regardless of whatever technical difficulties are going down--and with a smile :)
Hope you guys had a good night, I love playing in Van!!!! Good seeing all of you and hope to see you all again soon!!! Thanks again to Azim, Dennis, Jimmy, Kraig, Attila, Allya, Mel, Andrew and everyone for showing me such a great time!!!
xoxo

I had a good time at the show, despite the technical problems during Fei-Fei's set and despite Elena's absence.
It looked like one of the turntable channels wasn't working. And one of the monitors was pointed directly at the turntable with the working channel, causing the bass to rumble whenever she played vinyl. The DJ booth was vibrating quite a bit too, probably from one of the floor speakers on the right side which was putting out sound directly across the front of the DJ booth. There was some distortion that I could hear when I was near the speakers, but it wasn't noticeable by the DJ booth. Fei-Fei probably didn't notice it either with the earplugs she was wearing. |
I just played there tonight. There were definite issues with TT1 but if they had done a proper sound check they might have been avoided. Whenever i play at cyber i spend 10-15 minutes just checking everything over.
TT1 was not working right. It was hooked into CH2, but this channel has its Phono broken. I hooked it into Ch4, Which is the ed ch for the headphones, but outputs normally. Whenever i used it, i just had to adjust my headphone levels, which isnt something djs like to do because it can often affect the levels between tracks. During my set every thing was cross-wired leading to some interesting oopsies.
There is a certain sound level that the system can handle, and the thing which couldnt handle it was actually the amp i think. Regardless, Pioneer mixers really arent made that well compared to some of the allen aand heath mixers, simply because the master can never go past 7 without distorting on the pioneer, while the A&H can go right to 10+. |

| By the way, im not really criticizing, if i were a touring dj and i came up against a rig like that, id just go to all cds. I had to think way too much and it was very difficult to mix well. |
