[OCT28] Dooms Night @ Pacific Coliseum - Halloween Massive

I had fun, I thought that the light setup on the mainstage was quite neat, only got to hear the last half of Eddie Halliwells set cause I was on the 4th stage at that time, but I loved what I heard.

Had to leave about 1/2 hour into Scots projects set cause one of my crew was a bit under the weather, which kinda sucked but those are the breaks.

Met a few really nice folk and was really appreciative of all the smiling faces that came and shook their booty to my set. Having been my first big event out here in Vancouver i expected a lot less from the crowd(due to the rumor mill and all that).

Thank you to Solid for having me play, but thank all you trance heads for coming out to have a good time. :)

Meat Katie was alright, Luke played a killer set full of tricks and fx.

Main room seemed like typical drug music

Crowd was typical gangster/whore crowd

Overall the event was lacking a vibe however I want to give a big thanks to SOLID for going all out with their light show and sound! The main stage looked awesome.

Now for Eddie Halliwell and Sean Tyas's sets which was the only reason why I made the trip over.

Eddie's wasn't his best (technically wise). From what I could see Shy Bro's didn't do a good job communicating with Eddie and he wasn't ready in time when the last track was almost done. Eddie messed up and made up for it with a two minute beat jugglin' session. I'm a HUGE supporter of his but there was times when he should have just let the tracks play a bit longer. It was really stop and go. I could tell there was a lot of people that didn't know Eddie or his style and they were the ones complaining and bringing down the vibe!!! They should have just went to another room or something and let the true fans do their thing ie. like give us space to dance. Eddie didn't dissappoint in the interaction department. He was all over the place jumping, dancing, crowd surfing, egging on the crowd, putting together killer build ups and getting the crowd to yell, absolutely stellar attitude. Tracks that I could ID were Greg Downey-Vivid Intent, and Tiesto-Traffic (his own live remix) which I got a 5 minute video of and will be posting it on the board for everyone. He stayed and partied for the rest of the night, signed autographs, and was even dancing with me during Sean Tyas's set for a bit.

Sean Tyas, WOW! He opened with Lift, played his remixes of Insigma- Open Our Eyes, SVD-Punk'd, Beam-On Your Mind, and get this he played a sample of his latest masterpiece in the making a remix of Robert Miles-Children, he told me it's called Children 2006 and he produced it with Dj Tatana. He's going to send me a vinyl pressing. Overall Sean was solid technically and had the crowd craving what they wanted all night ... big build ups and complete euphoric tracks to end the event.

During the show I went up to one of the SOLID crew members and asked him if I could get a picture with Eddie and he was kind enough to bring me back stage to meet him (if the guy who brought me back stage reads this, thank you, I owe you one!). As I was talking and getting my picture with Eddie, Sean came over and started talking with me and he got in the pictures too. Later on after Sean's set I ran into him in the smoking area. Trance&Acid saw me and joined in the conversation and got in a picture with us, the whole time not knowing that he was talking with Sean Tyas! We met Sean's friend who is from Vancouver and he put his home phone number (Switzerland) in my cell. We talked about TA and he says a BIG HELLO to everyone. He looks at the forums from time to time.

Well I still have to upload the pictures and video from the event and if someone would be kind enough to help me store it online that would be awesome.

apri_peel thanks again for helping me get a ticket. It was nice to finnally meet you. Good choice on the restaurant too! I was full for 12 hours.
