Hi everyone!
The summer is reaching it's end and the last sunny days are passing by. The lazyness will be over soon! It might be already the the case for a bunch of you :). So I hope you'll enjoy this mix and that it'll bring you back a bit of the holyday mood as you'll listen to it.
The set is a bit different to what I'm used to deliver. It's less melancolic and has a very "housy" feeling to it. Lots of classics as usual, but that's the way I like my mixes.
So, have a nice listen!
Corentin.

I checked your profile and I know who you are now :). I wouldn't have guessed you were this asian girl from Myspace! That's always the problem with multiple pseudos... You think you're talking with two persons, where in fact they're only one :toothless. Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy the mix.

It took a while before I had time to listen to it, but here is my review anyways.. ;)
I like the mix a lot in general, it has a nice flow, and its mixed very well.. good job you done there. I gotta say the genre is not really my cup of tea tho, its a bit too housey for me :p But def a nice mix |

Thanks Garth and Unique2701. Glad you liked the mix. And as I said, this housier sound was inspired by the summer days. Right now, I'm back to some more melancolic and somehow deeper prog sound :) ... a bit like your latest mix Garth.
Regards,
Corentin. |

Hey giving a a listen to your mix right now, thoughts...
Ok so you open up with Talk, great track btw. It has a delicate and beautiful vibe to it. However, at the point I am at right now (Dare) I don't think it sets the correct vibe for where the mix is heading, especially now. Track two I thought was slightly cheese, but still good, definently bringing in the more "techy" elements that are kinda flow blown in the rockin 3rd track. Chab is pretty sick. With 1983, I think you are developing more consistency with the direction of the mix, although the tune is slightly played out. Also, with 1983 you aren't really building on the momentum you had just brought up with Dare. I think it's a little early in the mix to slow down your first build-up. Definently think you could've used one more track between Dare and 1983. Smooth sailing until about track 9, where you start to be putting in a sexy and smooth housier groove. When I think about where you came from with the hard hitting "tech" of Dare, I would almost say you have the order backwards, as this build up (the climax of your mix) is weak in comparison. Then, you end with Zocalo, the only other track you have on here that I think is played out. Not only that, however, but I think Zocalo is more of a return to what you began with, Talk, at least in mood and style. So your intro and outro tracks, in my opinion, don't neccessarily flow perfectly with the body of the mix, although they each, if looked at separately, are perfect intro/outro tracks. Anyways, overall I would say it was a pretty good mix. If I were to score it, I'd give it a 6.5/10. Thanks for the mix. |
