A c0r sticky informing people to put youtube linked threads only into humor forums.

It seems there's been a sudden influx in the c0r with threads consisting only of a youtube movies or videos, and be they entertaining or not, shouldn't they go in the humor/cool website forum? Either that or should that forum be modified, or even deleted? It just seems odd that there are so many threads that I would consider to be just links to random videos or sites in the c0r when there's already a place on TA designated for such links. My only guess is that the poster is trying to garner a larger crowd since there's many more people that browse the c0r than the humor forums. Should they be moved into one forum, the offsite link forum being a subforum of the c0r? Clear up some of the mess methinks.

Exactly, which is why the c0r should be filtered out of threads that are solely youtube posts. My last idea of taking the mostly vacant humor/link forum and making it a subforum in the c0r is sounding like the best idea. Then make a sticky saying that all youtube posts and other posts akin to those are to be placed in the subforum, closures, suspensions, and other consequences as the discourse. |

| i think all posts where people just put a youtube vid or whatever in should be sent there, but if it's a discussion where a video is used as a reply or example, then it should be allowed. thoughts ? |

I'd be content with that, but I think overall it'd be easier just to make the humor/link forums a subforum of the c0r seeing as how that forum doesn't get too much activity as it is. I think if it was moved to the c0r it'd see more activity, and that way you'd stop the c0r from being flooded with the youtube only threads or other :wtf: links that are the sole reason for a thread being started. Sure, it might be strictly a c0r crowd and some TA members dare not set foot in the c0r, but it'd still be a larger audience to that forum and cut down on the banter.
I'd like to hear from a mod on this though :) |
