Should a just goverment provide health care for its citizens.

I thought I'd make a thread about my new debate topic in school. I will be debating this topic for Sept & Oct. On the 15th I have my first tournoment at Wake Forrest University, so I wanted to come up with a strong case. I wanted to hear what everybody thought about this topic and what your views are on it. Please give reasons why you are for, or againts it. Hope you guys could help.

| Yes the U.S. government should provide universal health care. If Canada can do it, why can't we? The U.S. has the resources. As far as other countries are concerned it would depend on their circumstance. |

| Yes i think the govt should provide it. I had to pay almost $1800 for a years worth of coverage & now its almost time to renew. :whip: |

I cant say thats alot or a little, depending on how much you are making.
Also, how do doctors get paid in the Canadian system? Less or the same as in the US? |

Well at previous jobs i had to pay about $12-18 a week for full health care including dental & eye, no matter how much money i made. But now my current employer was supposed to pay 1/2 as our original agreement, which would have come out to about $20 a week. But he skipped out on paying his half like the cheap he is. :whip:
