Daniel Bell Rocks
View this Thread in Original format
Psy-T
despite the fact that his set tonight contained about 4 tracks i'd actually consider buying (vs. 50+ ones i wouldn't give a second listen to), it was the best set i ever heard live.
the guy is a king of programming
he had a warmup from some guy named zachi who (despite playing a lot more tracks i probably would buy than dan bell did) couldn't warm up for ... dan bell warmed up (again) for himself instead.. he played 90+ minutes of hypnotic oldschool minimal grooves, the kind that doesn't have an offbeat snare/clap/etc (just the opposite of the kind i like :p)... with (next to) no breakdowns(!), and then he peaked us so hard with 3 minimal acid techno tracks... ing heaven on earth, from there on he re-hypnotized us with more oldschool stuff, this time tracks with an offbeat snare... driving me and everyone else wild.. some 80 minutes later he decided to peak us on a track we could actually identify.. erotic discourse (and it didn't even sound remotely cheesy). from there on end, some summery groove, and closure on deep house goodness.

this is how music should be played... make us ing BEG for a breakdown to let our bodies cope with the nonstop hypnotized dancing. use them sparingly.

two more notes about the party:
underground as .
cheap as .

recording of the set should be available soon, aswell as some pics and a few short videos i recorded (very jittery.. recorded while dancing), if only i'll get a usb->bluetooth dongle to transfer it to the comp.
