Can you tell me more about the areas/buildings in Atlanta, and what you like, and why?
I want to live primarily someplace that is COOL... nice restaurants, young people, safe, etc. I have a car so if I need to drive to Emory it's not a big deal.

Ya, I told ya before, I am in real estate appraisal...
Any area in Atlanta is pretty safe if you belong there. ;) J/K
Ok areas that you will be ok living (short list because there are MANY small districts):
Grant Park, Piedmont Park, Little five points, Inman Park, Midtown, Some parts of down town (mainly near Olympic Park), Buck head, Decatur, Sara Smith (won't find a rental there), CDC area, Atlantic Station... My top pick would be Piedmont park/Midtown area.
^^^ All these areas are ok to live in. Some are cleaner then others but all wont get you cought in a drive-by.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE AREAS:
Bankhead Hwy, MLK, Anything with the street Cascade in the the directions to get get to it, Anything near the historically black colleges, Westend, Personally I would stay away from Northside Drive area, ANYTHING AROUND TURNER FIELD THAT IS NOT GRANT PARK, anything south of I-20. Most things that are West of I-75 that is not still down town and midtown.
I e-mailed you a list of about 60+ properties. Take a look at them and if you see one that you like I can tell you more about that area. Even if it doesn not have a picture in what I sent you I can normally find a file photo of the place.
What was the price and unit number for the property in the Buckhead Grand? I will let you know what the 1 bedrooms should be going for in there to see if it is a good deal to just buy it. My guess is that it is between $199,000 and $230,000 for the 1 bedroom. |
