Actually 12 hours was a bit of an exaggeration, its probably something like 5 at max.

I know 5-htp is metabolised into 5-HT (seratonin) in less than an hour so i don't see how it would blunt the high?? |
Well I expect it is probably a little longer than 1 hour, but it probably varys quite alot depending on stomach content and the person.
According to this site: http://www.thedea.org/preloading.html he says 3 hours, but on other sites (erowid, bluelight) i've read that taking 5-HTP 6 hours before can slightly blunt the high.
Anyway I don't think its very necessary to take 5-HTP before hand anyway, it doesn't add much to the high and its not the best antioxidant especially cost-wise. |

Hehe, interesting :)
Love the openness of the UK forums :D
You might want to look into Pramiracetam instead of Piracetam. Whereas with piracetam about a week or more of pre-loading is needed this stuff is said to work almost intantaneously and even more intense.
As for Alpha Lipoic Acid only the R+ variant is of any use. Most ALA supplement boxes come with both 50-50% but you're better off with 100% R+ALA.
Also I remember reading somewhere that St. John's Wort should be not used in combination with 5-HTP if you plan on using that instead...not sure as to what the exact chemistry behind it was though.
There is also contradicting information as to whether 5-HTP should be used to pre-load or only used for recovery purposes the week after, some say it gives them a more intense rush if they pre-load, others say it lessens it and makes it a little less energetic...
(edit: just noticed this has been mentioned already)
Some more info on 5-htp:

An older thread with some more supplements info here on TA, the Ecstasy User's Bible:

L-Tyrosine
DLPA
L-Glutamine
could also be looked into more :)
Bluelight is a great info resource too.
Keep this thread updated with any new information you guys might come across or experiences you want to share :) |
