Inquiry hears Kovco dreamt of his own death
Private Jake Kovco dreamt of his own death one month before he actually died, the Army's board of inquiry has heard.
The board of inquiry started in Sydney today, with his wife Shelley Kovco and his parents present.
Counsel assisting the board of inquiry, Colonel Michael Griffin, gave his opening address direct from Baghdad via video link.
Colonel Griffin says Private Kovco died from a single gunshot to his head with the wound showing the gun was 5 centimetres from his head at the time.
However, Colonel Griffin says the gun had remained in its holster, slung over the bed head where Private Kovco had left it, as he entered his room along with two other soldiers.
A chilling moment came during the morning session when Colonel Griffin revealed Private Kovco kept a detailed journal during his time in Iraq.
On March 23 he had recorded a dream he had had, which showed him dying from a shot to his head by his gun.
Colonel Griffin says it almost precisely mirrors what did happen a month later.
The inquiry continues.

Freaky indeed!
Before heading down to Fed Square the night that Promo started his world record attempt i had a little afternoon siesta & dreamt he was DJing in Mickey Mouse Ears. I thought it was highly amusing until i actually got down to Fed Square to see a pair of these same ears sitting on tope of the monitor...
