Glad I to hear my old home state got to enjoy his telent, too.
Ronski was just here, at Spundae in Hollywood, last night and tore the roof off the place! He mentioned that his last gig was at the Loft in Minneapolis. He said he was super pleased with the crowd and it was a blast of a show!
Although, he wasn't pleased with the thunderstorm... he and Marco did finally make it to LA... an hour and a half before his set.
I wished he could have had the croud he deserved at Spundae, but it was big even with less than 2000 people.
My wish: EUPHONIC NIGHT with KvA, Ronski Speed, Sonorous, and Mirco de Govia!
WOOT!! |

Heh, well I think our show had 200 people TOPS. That's the midwest for ya.
Though the downtown area had been under water most of the evening. |

200? I'd say around 50.
I'm suprized you didn't like his set. I agree with you about the last 45 min, really slammin.
Did you play before him? Your set was nice, well done.
We saw Ronski outside after the show, didn't talk to him though, didn't want to be rude.
Also, how did he play til 2:20? AWESOME. |

200 ppl on a bad weather night is nothing to scoff at! At least there's a viable reason. We have so many other events to contend with out here- that's what the club owners get worried about. There are more great events than EDM interested people to support them.
This weekend is M.I.K.E., JD Remy, and Perry O'Neil at Spundae- LA's biggest club. It has to compete with Electric Daisy Carnival this weekend. The EDC line up includes - Ferry Corsten, G&D, Chris Lawrence, Infected Mushroom, and JOOF on the mainstage.
I'm having a coronary deciding which to hit! Infected is a must see, JOOF and CL are people I know well, BUT Perry O'Neil is a KILLER producer who I haven't seen spin before and M.I.K.E. is a good friend.
When I lived in ND/MN, the idea of "DJ" was a guy slamming cd's in a crappy player with absolutely no beatmatch, no EQ, no flow... crossfade and in and out (forget about a flanger)- and not even to great tunes! ATB wasn't even acknowleged... and BT who?? Possibly, there were a few who had heard of Oakenfold or K&D. I moved out here and get to see, on a weekly basis, the guys I loved listening to online that nobody I knew there had ever even heard about.
The entire EDM scene is still a complete underground movement in the U.S., but at least it's moving. 200 people in a cool club rocking out to Ronski Speed on a really stormy night- that's what I call dedication! Plus, Minneapolis is a cool town... has to be to have Prince call it home!
Peace out! |
