ideed a house bass is much more complicated than a trance bass which can be quite monotone.
house basslines have their roots somewhere in late 70s disco and funk. try starting with walking basses or listen to real bassists of that 70s style |

alternate the size of the note, alternate the octave
add some distortion make it a bit dirty ,,add some res in real time
and make it funky and have fun |

use syncopation... put the base on beats you dont normally.
ive played bass for 9 years so it comes naturally to me.
one funky bassline, repeat, a variation, repeat, a breakdown, etcettera...
dont vary too much or you lose the "groove" |
