i felt soooo bad for Marco Andretti at the finish. that would have been the best ever if he won, mainly because of his rookie status. i was rootin' for him.

and poor poor danaca patrick - hit the wall with like 9 laps to go. that just sucks.....again cause it basically happened to her last year too.

Marco will be another great driver in the future, but he made a rookie mistake. His speed on the last lap was 214. He'd been running around 220 the lap before when Sam tried to pass him the first time. Sam was still running balls to the wall at 220 the last lap. Marco backed off for the entire last lap cause he thought it was already over.

It was still a good race though. One of the better one's I've seen in a while and the weather was actually nice. I can't recall how many years it's been since the weather didn't spoil the race.

and y the hell didn't his pit crew say speed the fock up marco? flippin idiots.

They probably weren't watching the telemetry data thinking that maybe he already had it won too. I didn't even know that Marco slowed down like that till I heard Derek Daily say something about it on Monday. What I want to know is how the hell Hornish got back up to speed like he did in such a hury to catch Marco after falling so far behind. Those cars don't accelerate at that speed. It takes them a couple laps to gain it back. How he got back up to 220 and was at it long enough to catch Marco in a little over one lap is what I want to know cause Marco really didn't slow down that much.

I don't feel bad for Marco. I think he's a spoiled brat hehe. I was rooting for Hornish the entire time. That was one of the best comebacks in 500 history. Needless to say, I was happy with the results.

I was there... my 20th anniversary this time in fact :)

I don't think Marco ever let off the gas... I know I wouldn't about to win!!!

Sam just had the faster car + the draft.
