we get it on wed cause vancouver gets them on saturdays/fridays
Howerver....our tickets are 1/3 sometimes 1/4 that of vancouver! |

I'd pay more to have him (or any dj I would go to see) if these promoters could pull of fri/sat gigs instead of middle of the week, or even worse, sundays.. |

The Venue would lose TONNES of money, fridays/saturdays are already busy, so they also bring them on days which have low turnout/poplarity boosting revenue. Thats also why at 2am-2:30am they boot everyone out, because they make money from booze which they are unable to sell after 2:00am, so why bother staying open..
Most of the DJ events are pretty good turnout, and also a lot of the "clubbers" are not in the know how for whats going on in calgary., they could show up at their fav club to find out that they have to pay 25 to get into a DJ event when they want to listen to the top 40.
Unfourtunatley i believe it always comes down to the $$$ side of things, but we do get some pretty sweet DJ's into calgs. |

pretty sure this is false. its liquor control that prohibits people from being there past 3 am. Everybody must be out of the venue by then, which is why they shut down @ 2:45, and hope were gone by 3. The warehouse was grandfathered in, as was the cherry, but I think cherry lost theirs. |

I don't know about Alberta, but in Ontario you can stay open as long as you want to. you just can't serve alcohol past 2am. I work in a club and if the party is bumpin', we'll stay open longer.
and since I'm not getting to Calgary until june 26th, I've sent a few friends to the event to tell me what it's like:) They bought their tickets today. |
