Equipment:
P4 3.2GHz
1gb RAM
Cubase SX 3.1
Roland JP-8000 (is also primary MIDI controller)
M-Audio Delta 1010
Midiman (M-Audio) Midisport 8x8
Problem:
Whenever I edit a JP patch while it's being played in Cubase, 2 things happen. 1) Cubase locks up and I have to close it via Task Manager and 2) unless I reboot after 1) happens, my Delta ASIO Drivers won't load up when I open up Cubase again.
[note]
Everything works fine if I'm just pressing keys with one hand and editing knobs and faders with the other. My computer just freaks out when Cubase is playing the synth and I'm editing.
Is this happening because the JP is acting as my primary MIDI controller? Would it be remedied if I had a seperate MIDI keyboard controller? Or are you just not supposed to edit patches on a hardware synth while it's being played in the sequencer? |
