First James Holden is great. For the most part I really dig some of his tracks, then others get a little boring for me. So I'd dance to the ones I liked, take a break during the ones I didn't. It seemed to work out.
But in my opinion Chicago doesn't deserve a dj of his caliber. I counted how many cool people I saw. 2. The one black guy with sunglasses dancing up on the 2nd level, and 1 girl who seemed to have a groove going. People in this city are absolutely clueless. Honestly, does anyone that was there consider this a good time? ing awful.
The dancefloor was absolutely pathetic. No one here understands the concept of a groove. They move for maybe a coule seconds, stand there, perhaps flail around a little bit. It had to be some of the worst dancing I had seen anywhere in my life. People are constantly walking through the middle of the dance floor, talking on the dance floor, bringing drinks onto the dance floor. Terrible.
Im pretty sure I saw what appeared to be "tas" up on the balcony to the right of James Holden. I honestly did myself a huge favor by not ever meeting any of them. Can you say sausage fest? Look up there and you see about 20 guys lining up, and 1 girl. Is this the best Chicago has to offer? This girl is a bonafide 6.8, pale, wanna be go go dancer. Honestly someone needs to tell this girl that she aint all that. The only problem is that Im sure all the dumbs up there are salvating over her. Seriously the american male is a completely deprived specimen.
I stayed for 2 hours. By the end the crowd was just so awful that I couldnt subject myself to it any longer. Im sure James Holden will be playing in a bigger, much much cooler venue sometime over the summer, so I will just have to travel outside of this country, once again, to have a kick ass time. Chicago ing sucks. |

I am usually there for the music, not looking to get laid.... sure I wouldn't mind the occasional.... ;) |

In all honesty people that are into this genre of music are in it for just that. When I go out to the clubs I got hear the DJ live, to hear the music live. If you are concerned about people 'dancing' properly or being subjected to the right crowd... goto a club that plays top 40 or hip hop. Get crunk. Find a random chick that cares more that her blush is evenly distributed on her face than if the DJ cant even beatmatch.
