E3: 2K6
Welcome to what will hopefully become a cool collaborative effort amongst the gaming forum TA's to put together a semi-comprehensive list of the most interesting rumors, news, and other topics for discussion at this years E3!
The way we're hoping this will work is that each of you find something interesting having to do with this years expo, make a relevant post and link us to the source material, after you do that I'll update this first post with the link and a short synopses of what's behind it.
I'm hoping this will both bring a little new life to this forum and be a solid resource for a diverse and interesting collection of the hottest stories at E3 this year!
Cheers, and here's looking to a solid conference!
The news so far...
(Wii):
4/27/06
Konami brought their first Revolution title to the public today, called Elebits.

SEGA is continuing their successful franchise Super Monkey Ball on the Revolution, titled Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz.

interview: here
AMN is claiming that the Nunchuk extension to the Revolution controller will also include motion sensors. Take this as a rumour until further confirmation from Nintendo.

French videogaming site Jeux-France is reporting that the Revolution Nunchuk extension will include - besides motion sensors - force feedback (not to be mixed with the normal rumble). Their sources appararently described the feeling as holding a "Powerball" (more info about Powerball: here)
As with the above news about the motion sensing nunchuk, take this as a rumour too.

Unfortunately, no new screenshots from Revolution games has been published yet, besides from Ubisoft Paris developed Red Steel. [/QUOTE]

(Microsoft XBOX 360):
CONFIRMED Pre-E3 rumor (Microsoft XBOX 360):
Reports are saying that Microsoft will be announcing an HD-DVD drive add-on for the 360 as early as the first day of E3. I'll follow up on this news over the week.
According to Chris Lewis, Microsoft Executive, the add-on WILL be making an appearance at E3.

Halo 3 to be unveiled at E3 news conference.
| quote: | IGN reports that Microsoft will unveil the next Halo title during its E3 news conference on Tuesday, May 9. The preview is reportedly in the form of a 2-minute video. While the exact details of the footage are unknown, expect a doctored in-game sequence.
However, beyond this teaser, don't expect to learn much about the game. No one is going to rush this title in order to combat the PlayStation 3 launch. All signs indicate that the next Halo is far from complete and won't be out until 2007. |

Assassin's Creed (**Note: Cross Platform PS3/X360)
Ubisoft Montreal has announced Assassin's Creed, a next gen title for the PS3 and 360, to be in (possible) production.
The Holy Land is in trouble during the Third Crusade. You play as Altair, a member of the Assassins, intent on helping the fight to preserve the Holy Land.
They launched the game's preview site with a nice trailer to spark our interest.
This game will be seen at E3 next week even though one of the two (Sony) had yet to okay the concept for their console.
(Sony PlayStation 3):
Pre-E3 announcement (Sony PlayStation 3):
Ridge Racer 7 is in development for the PS3 console and will be making an appearance of some form at E3 (a different source is saying that the game WILL be playable at E3, marking the beginning of the first hands on experience with the PS3). Helming the project are 2 RR veterans, Hideo Teramoto and Masaya Koyabashi. Expect to see a 14-player online racing mode with RR7.
Will it be a release title? That information we'll probably find out over the next few months (sooner than later).

Lawl! Naw, I'm not going this year, haven't been there since 2001 (the only year I was there), but I'm always jumping all over the news sites during E3, and think it'll be kind of fun to see what kind of discussion the TA's will have about some of the more interesting stories to come out of the biggest event of the year for gaming in America... :) |

According to Sony, November will be seeing a worldwide release for the PlayStation 3.
Delays abound? Maybe.
