World of DnB review!

Well this was my first DnB event, and I must say the crowd that goes to these shows is completely different than that of house or trance shows, but I guess that's to be expected. And the Loft has a very underground warehouse/basement feel to it. One room was designated to the main attractions and had three MC's going constantly. It was a bit too loud for my liking, but they were selling ear plugs, I was just to cheap to buy a set. The music was insane, all the djs in the main room played hi-nrg DnB, but my only problem with this is that they kept playing Pendulum tracks like Blood Sugar (heard at least twice), Tarantula (heard at least four times), Fasten Your Seat Belts (heard I think three times) and all of this was before Pendulum came on at 1am, which kind of made me Pendulum'd out, but I still stayed for their set. My favorite set of the night has to go to DJ Zinc though. He spun a couple Pendulum tracks, but also a lot of I hadn't heard, and some weird random remix of Kanye West - Goldigger, which for some reason worked well.
In the other back room was more underground-sounding DnB/Jungle. There weren't any MC's in here, but they were still having a pretty good party going on. I spent a fair amount of time in there because not every other track was a Pendulum track.
All in all it was a pretty good night, worth the money spent. And nope, I don't have pics, but if I did it probably would have been of the LOADS of ed up druggies. |

| Man, I really wish I could have made it out. I love DnB/Jungle and I love Pendulum and I was really planning on coming but my work schedule changed. I got off work at midnight last night and I wasn't willing to spend $35 (if there were even any tickets left) just for a couple of hours. I'd really like to check out the Loft sometime too. |

It was a pretty good show. The Loft is nothing too special though. It's kind of like the Globe was here in Atlanta, just a big open, concrete dancefloor, with crappy little sidebars. It's nothing too special at all. The other side room has a few chairs, and two other tiny rooms (that apparently don't receive any heating or cooling). But mainly it looks like a warehouse, with the exposed piping and everything.
Now if they'd just turn the music down a tad so it didn't literally make me go 50% deaf in both ears for a day after the fact  |
