ever see that movie 'twister'? well there are actually people out there who chase storms. They're aptly known as "storm chasers", however unlike the movie these guys chase storms for the sake of photography and not for science (though i'm sure there are people out there just like the ones in the movie).

i attended a presentation once where one of these guys ran through a slideshow of images he'd taken from the 2004 sydney bushfires. The stories that he presented (along with the images) were amazing. He told us how he passed out in his car once due to the extreme heat of being so close to the fire, and he was dragged out of his car in time for him to take a snap. Awesome pic that one was too.
Just unbelievable what these guys do to get their photos. |

the americano storm chasers that chase the actual hurricanes and twisters and are the crazies
would be pretty exciting i imagine :D |

| Those pictures are absolutely stunning. I've always admired people like that who can have a passion so strong that they'll do anything in their power to live it. Awesome. It's now my wallpaper. :) |

| Yeah its pretty cool, I once sat in a car on a hill in the middle of a storm for like an hour taking pics of a storm, I got one nice photo but it was a bit blury :P |
