(or is our coverage 1/2 hour delayed:conf: )

well the session is over (3pm)

Davidson was fastest in both sessions for Honda.

i rekon webber would do well in a demolition derby, he's got a knack for that sort of thing

ok, its 30 mins delayed here:(

Not that Fridays mean much anyway. Its an indication but you can't really take it as gospel.

I thought Fisi had a dry lap and the rain came after he did his lap. Either that or it was the Sunday time which (from hazy memory) was dry.

i can't remember if it was drying out then started raining again
or if it just started raining after him or what....
but it's why he got pole and not someone else :)

just looked it up.. and yeah, was drying out, and then came more rain!

http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=178509

"Rain prior to first qualifying left the track fairly wet but the rain had stopped by start of the session. Minardi's Christijan Albers was first out on wet tyres and had a difficult lap, but held it together to set the initial time of 1:49.230. Teammate Patrick Friesacher also struggled and was 1.6 slower than Albers."
"Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella took provisional pole position in the first qualifying session for the Australian Grand Prix when he managed to be on track and put in a good lap at the perfect moment. The Italian clocked 1:33.171 on dry tyres, just seconds before the rain washed out the hopes of the last eight runners."

for better comparison, here's the top 3 from friday practice 2005, session 2

1 Pedro de la Rosa McLaren-Mercedes 1:25.376
2 Kimi Räikkönen McLaren-Mercedes 1:25.676
3 Nick Heidfeld Williams-BMW 1:25.940
