Advice please
Hype X
I'm about to start djing and ive decided to go with a CDJ because apparently u can be a little bit more creative and it isnt as expensive in terms of buying music. So i went to have a look at prices today and this is what was recommended to me:

2 American Audio CDI 500
1 QD5 mixer
1 DJ9200 headphones

AU $2149.00

What do u think? should i fork out for this?

Also i had a question right, from what i know about djing you mix one song into another and you mix your second track in as the one playing is coming to an end. So the music is seamless.

Track A: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Track B: bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

I understand how this works with vinyl cause there is only one song on the record usually. But with cds tho you have liek 15 tracks. And the DJ who made the cd has already mixed the songs in together. So wouldnt this make it dodgy when you try to mix one of these songs in with a different song from a different cd? Like this..

Track A: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Track B: bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
(its like that on the cd)
Track c: ccccccccccccccccccccccc
(and thats me trying to mix in a different song from a different cd) So for a short time its like 3 songs merged together

i dont know if anyone will understand what i mean, remember im a rookie.

thanks to anyone who helps

is it just me or sometimes do you wonder if people just wake up one day and wanna be a dj? if people love dance music enough to wanna learn to mix, how can they be so clueless? no offence intended btw, just an observation.

to answer your question, some songs are released as singles, just like regular music. but most people buy & download their tunes from sites like beatport or audio jelly (check sticky thread at top of page). buy 320kb mp3s if youre gonna wanna play them out.

as for the setup i wouldnt know. but i *strongly* recommend buying from storedj.com.au as youre in australia. very friendly staff, full of good advice & have excellent service. go to the australian forum and post questions in the vinylwarning appreciation thread link
if youre buying a whole setup they might do you a good deal. i know if you PM nyquist_theorem he's always happy to lend advice and he knows his .

good luck :)
