the beginning of the breakdown and the main section that leads into it are almost two different tracks. kind of disconnected there.
i like the breakdown melody and the last half of it before the main again.
not liking how the kick and hats are working together to produce a poor sound hearing wise compared to stuff that people are coming up with these days.
i would get in there with some electric elements to spice up the track a bit in terms of bells and whistles and to give the melody something to keep it interesting. maybe consider a submelody for a few patterns during the main after the main break before the outro.
that kick does not sit well with that rolling bass imho. one or the other has to change.
its worth pursuing, but at this point it doesn't totally stand out. i've heard some stuff from you caleb that's better. |

don't change the rolling bass, it's good (best thing just about) - perhaps change the other fluttery synth sound over top of the bass, but he's ^ right; the fluttery synth stands out a lot and is weird over the bass line and also unfortunately isn't that wicked.
in general could be a bit harder (imo) and/or just a little more stand out-ish. needs something more, an electro sound would spice it up and keep with the trend as of lately.
decent start though. i don't know anything about the technical side of production and i'm sure its hard as hell along with trying to hear your own production outside of your head, but i do know when a song sounds good (imo of course), wicked or needs more. i am incredibly picky too btw. |
