Hello again,
To complete my set up after having received Serato from Basstard (Thanks again buddy! Helped me out big time!)
I need to look for a monitor. Now it hopefully will be attached to a wall mount VESA bracket, eventually but money doesn't allow that at the moment (thanks car service!)..
So my question to you lot is:
1. Would you go for a 15" or a 17" monitor? Prices are roughly the same for the two. Looking to spend no more then £150.
2. Does serato work well with a 1024x768 resolution? Or should i try get a monitor that supports 1280x960. Also is a widescreen monitor more advantageous?
That's basically it :) I'm looking for a black monitor as slimline as possible. There's a Xerox one which looks pretty slick.. but anyway.
Cheers lads,

I'd say get either a 19" or a widescreen with good resolution. You have to be able to see the screen very clearly and bigger is always better :p
I'm using a 19" 1280x1024 screen now, I stand about 2 feet in front of it when DJ'ing and it works good, but anything smaller and I'd have to move closer to read text on the screen (but then again, I'm a little near-sighted, so... :) ) 17" might be ok but forget 15" screens! |

See i was kind of thinking the same thing but then thought about all the people using laptops. None of them are using anything bigger than a 17" screen..
I'm a little restricted with space so a 19" isn't really an option. Plus i think it's a little overkill. Reason being i don't want a big monitor beside my set up.
Another point. And i appreciate all your comments but i'm just throwing this out there..
Since i've gotten SSL, I've become aware that you can begin to stare at the monitor WAY too much! Eg. You're starting to depend on the thrills and bonuses of SSL, being able to see the WAVE form, the elignment thingy along the top (although it is a little crude)..
My point is, i'm trying not to really look at the screen that much as i don't want to depend on visual beatmatching, rather i'm still trying to train my ears.. Dunno if that's stupid.
That's why i was considering getting a small black 15" monitor which wont stick out like mad, but will let me see the track name and well that's all i really need isn't it? SSL doesn't seem to be graphics heavy to me..
