Hi, I got a scholarship offer to go to UofA and play basketball, I currently live in vancouver of course, can you guys tell me a little about the school/campus and the town in general.
I still have to make a decision if I want to go, I heard good things so far, it seems to be a sports town like they say, but the weather seems to be a bitch.
If I go, its likely to be a 2 year commitment, so I wanna make sure.
thank you. :D |

If you're still considering it, the weather isn't that bad. It's only difficult if you've got to travel around the area a lot, but since you'd be on campus most of your time, no worries.
Yeah, it's safe to say Edmonton is a sports town, but the U of A is worth it, I'd say. |

UofA is a really cool place. There's about 35000 full time students there and it is located at the end of Whyte Ave, Edmonton's pseudo-Bohemian party strip. Also, it sits on the stunning river valley and is a short train ride to downtown. If you live close to campus, you'll have a great time. And yes, the weather sucks in winter.
