'Allo everyone and welcome to a thread for my February 2006 demo, "BBC."

While BBC is a common acronym for a cerain brand of international television channel based in the UK, the meaning behind me titling my February demo is certainly not to provide them with free advertising. It is rather meant to be a small tribute to some of those who have truly inspired my sound over the last several months, who have helped me shape and mold my sound in ways that have continuosly inspired me.

As many of you know, I'm a sentimental bastard. I often times feel that the people who inspire me are the ones who deserve the real credit when a set I mix comes off just how I want it to. It happened with Myra as my inspiration for "Clarity Through the Fog" and continues this month with "BBC."

So it is with all of the above sentiment that I am able to proudly say thank you to Bobby, Bas, and Clovis. Without the three of you my sound wouldn't be even close to where it is now, and I'd likely still be finding myself growing continually restless with my mixing and style. Without the three of you, this demo never would have been created (quite literally), so thank you 3 for all your continued help and support.

Here's to hoping you all enjoy, any and all feedback, as always, is appreciated... For the record, I'm particularly proud of this mix (even though I do kind of fight the mix into "Muscle Car" :p)

Cheers,

Rob

a wise man once said before: "its a pretty good collection of beeps and bleeps you put together"

Its pretty good, a little slower paced than what i would have liked. I thought it started out pretty slow for the first 15 minutes or so and seemed a bit directionless but it got a nice shot in the arm with Funkagenda & Jamodu - Underground and then it just kind of steamrolled from there onwards - the last 3 tracks closed out the set perfectly. I think the Sidney Samson track just came out last month, I haven't heard it yet and its good a pretty good bassline (although the lyrics are a bit wonky).

Don't get me wrong - I think your technical skill is superb and your track selection is consistently good. I still put on CTTF occasionally when I'm driving home in the morning after a night out - but I think your style has gravitated pretty rapidly towards the techier side of house - while my musical tastes have recently been all over the spectrum in the past 4-6 months. But back to the mix, I think its one of your best yet and that's why I'm just sad and a bit upset with myself that I don't like it as much as I did your previous promos for the simple reason that musical tastes have changed a bit.

Thanks for reading that mind dump I took.

Wow! Thank you Yuris for all the feedback, I really, REALLY appreciate reviews like this...

You are correct in your statement that my style has certainly progressed to the slightly techier side of things, but I guess I feel I still try to keep things a little bit melodic.

In any event, I really appreciate the listen Yuris... Your feedback always means a lot to me... Cheers!
