interesting so if there we are no f*#kwits or morons in the world then emergency wards could reduce the number of cases by around 40%

minimum 20% at least roughly...

but this may affect there funding! emergency funding takes precedence over alot of other health care areas as it usually a vote winner for governments.. its all so complex!!

as i said massive catch 22, damned if ya do damned if you dont etc...

hehe, its the only thing about music i have any clue about, so im a little limited in music discussions :D

thanks :)

sure, however it all depends on how your needs are defined. theyve been a lot of stories publicised down here lately where people have been on waiting lists for years, their condition isnt going to kill them immediately however it does dramatically degrade their quality of life or mean they lose vital parts of their anatomy (there was this poor fvcker who had resorted to pulling his own teeth out with pliers coz he was in so much pain).

ive lost respect for your argument coz you included two '4' points :p

i still disagree to a point tho. technically speaking almost anything is attainable by any advanced liberal democracy. its all to do with priorities and where the research & funding is directed. you cant tell me that if every country decided to develop the perfect health care system in australia that it couldnt be done. $$$$ + know how = results.

yes, thats a theoretical suggestion and never going to occur. however i still argue that whilst a perfect system is problematic at best, there is room for significant improvement and that improvement is possible if scarce resources are transfered from elsewhere.

but yeah, i definitely agree with your assessment of the public & their perceptions & understandings. nobody ever said people werent stupid ;)

dude.. your in tassie.. each state has it different as health is FUNDED by feral (federal)government but RUN by the states.. (see the big fark off post earlier)

my accounts are generally speaking about victorian policy but the governemnt tries to achieve an eveness through vertical fiscial balance ( i think thats it or is it horizontal?? one of them whatever.. ) the states may be allocated a budget for health refelcting there per capita population, but there is no gurantee, although proof is required by the commonwelath that the money is spent there (on health)... tassie is quite unique (in more ways than one) as they have a very different health system to the rest of the country...
its complex and convoluted to explain also but i do know the hospital system there is quite farked. it should in theory run alot smoother due to the size of the population and its potential to create infrastructure and mange health but it just doesnt.. although you get free ambulance there (probably due to the fact the majority are volunteer first aiders, dont have a heart attack in tas!!)

anyway 2 point fours.. dont i look stupid now cant even count!

i dont disagree that it could be vastly improved but what im getting at within victoria at least the system is running as best it can consdering the resources allocated.. the problme lies in that the healtcare system is having to prepare for the future now because of the escalating population in need of health care which brings me back to t he population bubble in the baby boomers era... money is being spent mostly to prepare for this right now not to improve or expnad the system as it probably should... it also comes down to socio economic stuff also which i talked about earlier..

so yeah there ya go!
