I'm absolutely brand spankin' new to djing... so I know I suck. I know my mixing is terrible. But New Year's day I got rly rly stoned and watched 21 Grams, then decided to make a mix. Don't ask me why.

download here

That is what I came up with

65:27m
89.8mb

Tracklisting:

01. Gustavo Santaolalla - Do We Lose 21 Grams
02. Pole Folder - Morning Crow
03. William Orbit - Sea Green vs. Gustavo Santaolalla - Should I Let Her Know
04. Digital Witchcraft - Snowday vs. Gustavo Santaolalla - Can Emptiness Be Filled & Gustavo Santaolalla - Did This Really Happen
05. Gustavo Santaolalla - Shake, Rattle, and Roll
06. Nathan Boshtick - Vertigo vs. Gustavo Santaolalla - Is There A Way To Help Her & Gustavo Santaolalla - Does He Who Looks For The Truth
07. Pablo Roma - Blue Noise
08. Holden & Thompson - Come To Me (The Last Atlant Delayed Vox mix)
09. R3volve vs. James Talk - Chemistry For Beginners
10. Röyksopp - What Else Is There (Trentmöller remix)
11. William Orbit - Fragmosia
12. Gustavo Santaolalla - You're Losing Me (fade in fade out)
13. VAST - Pretty When You Cry
14. Gustavo Santaolalla - Do We Lose 21 Grams

Feel free to harp on me about how bad I trainwreck... I dun' curr! I'll listen to constructive criticism because I need to and I'm sure there's plenty to give. I tried to incorporate the soundtrack into the mix. So all those Gustavo tracks are from the soundtrack and my own live mashups into the tracks. I was really stoned :toothless

oh, that second to last Gustavo track was a mistake so I tried to fade in and fade out of it quickly... and I'm far too lazy to edit it out :wtf: I really should have ended it after Fragmosia... but meh.

Now I actually need to buckle down and get my own, legitimate equipment :wtf:

Hope you all like it :)

Nice. :)

The end part I could really live without from the second to last Gustavo track down to the repeat of the opener.

I've never taken drugs before in my life, but after listening to your mix I understand musically the vibe that you were putting out that night. As far as the whole set goes, you followed a consistent theme and although I don't know what that theme was, it was still present in every track. Your flow was great as well with the exception of the tune at 58:35 because you mixed a RnB/soul record into the mix which didn't fit at all. It's good to take risks just not stupid ones. The tracklist for my tastes are absolute crap, but the point is that you respected the art form. Mixing is not all physical. It's also being able to follow a certain vibe and building on it. I've heard other sets which music I despise and often I find that they have no clue what they're doing. In your case, you knew what you were doing, it's just that this music is not my cup of tea. Other than a few beatmatching errors, there was nothing wrong technically and artistically with your mix. As you can tell I'm not much of an ass-kisser so please don't take my comments the wrong way. Anyways take care and I look forward to hearing some more of your sets, hopefully of a different type of music.

Yeah,I knew the RnB one was going to be weird. That's why it faded in and out. I was going to try and make it work, but totally failed :wtf:

Thanks for the time spent listening to it though :)
