Wassup guys, I thought I share with you something cool. Since I am running Homebrew onto my PSP, I also managed to run a wonderfull little app called PSP Radio, It lets you listen to shoutcast streams onto your PSP. So, If you have a wireless connection at home and wish to listen your favorite streams while laying in bed or anywhere the house, You can. Here are two screenshots to prove it. :)
Heres a screenshot of the playlist screen, On this one, All you would do is create a pls file with all the streams on it, Then transfering those pls files onto a specific folder in PSP Radio. What I did on mines is create a bunch of pls files to each of the stations I listen to since they all have mirror links in case one link doesnt work.

On this screenshot, You can see the Shoutcast Listings, The software has a feature that will retrieve all the Shoutcast streams listed on the website and displays the top 600 onto the program, You can pick a Genre and it will show the avialable streams based on that Genre.

Quality stuff!
Do you think it would be viable for Sony to add a similar tech to a future firmware update?
Hope so. :D |

I don't think so, The most recent feature they added on the latest firmware update, Is something called Location Free Player, It's basically a feature where you need to buy a BaseStation that you hook up to your TV, Tivo, Or DVD Player, It's so that you can watch them onto your PSP Screen. However, I don't know if Sony ever plans on adding a player that would stream live Audio or Video from the Net on the PSP, I don't think they Sony Shoutcast nor WMP streaming. |
