bout to take place....
so yesterday i got to the radio shack to get a router for my laptop so i can share a network with my desktop pick one up spent all nite trying to figure it out up till bout 7 in the morning pass out wake back up to fiddle with it some more call the technician of the company i bout the router from bout 1030 still on the fone with him an then he tells me that my problem is that my modem is actually a router included the modem so i call time warner to figure out what i need to be able to hook my laptop up with a stank attitude she tells me a hub ok so i go back to radio shack return the router go to comp usa for the hub, get back home thinkin ok now i can put this together so i call the technical support of netgear talk to the guy he we re going over the proceedures but since i can t go online theres a problem he realizes the problem and proceeds to tell me i have the wrong hardware i need a router not a hub:whip: :whip: :whip: so i go back to comp usa returned the hub went to circuit city for the router cause comp usa was sold out finally get home around 7 ish then proceeded to install it i called up the ppl at netgear finally a someone who knew what they were talking bout he helped me figure out what was wrong finally!!! now i had to figure out how to to the file swapping so i called mircosoft bout then it was oh saaay 9 ish after 3hours later and 4 phone calls i still don t have my set up right the 3 rd time im talking to a techie and she has me doin crazy to my comp tell me to go to my sys config an edit it telling me she ll have me fix it when its all done then *CLICK* we get disconnected:whip: :whip: :whip: so i try calling back but apparently the techie support dept has left for the nite since they get out at 9 pacific time so now im left hung out to dry don t know wtf i did to my comp took out maaad firewalls an d am pretty pissed and STILL DIDN T GET MY DONE and i have till tomorrow nite to get my sorted out FFS in monkeys what good is techinical support if they give u the wrong shiet?!?!? |

wow i dont ever think i've seen/read jay this mad before.. :eyespop: :nervous:
i hope you get the problems sorted man, that's a helluva long time to set up ur stuff.. took me about a good 15-20 hours (over the span of 3 days) to finally get my wireless router set up in my room... so many problems that were totally unecessary.. omfg so frustrating.. i feel yo pain kid... |

it's EASY!!
If you want to split internet between more than more computer and also set up a network, you need a ROUTER.
If you just want to share files within a LAN and do not require internet access for other computers, you only need a HUB.
Tech support is full of idiots who have no clue what they're doing. |
