Symphonic Fairytales
Hans Christian Andersen, the world's favourite storyteller, is celebrating his 200th birthday and Sydney celebrates with some of his best-loved stories. Join us for an evening of enchanted forests, witches, princesses and spirits. To bring these wonderful tales to life, we've joined up with the Sydney Youth Orchestra, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and some very special guests.

Jazz in the Domain: The Spirit of New Orleans
New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz, the home of Mardi Gras, the inspiration for artists of every form. Now, the city will forever be associated with a natural disaster that shocked the world.
As people begin to look to the future, Sydney Festival welcomes three of Louisiana's most brilliant musical ensembles, brought together for this one-time only celebration of all that is great about New Orleans. For one extraordinary night in the Domain, Sydneysiders can enjoy a century of world-class New Orleans music, with the authenticity of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the big sound of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and the Mardi Gras excitement of Terrance Simien. The bands will be joined on stage by special guests.
