Hearts/Fragile/Blueprint

I think it's about time someone mentions three tunes which were way before their time when it comes to trance music.
Sometimes me myself forget how much of a pioneer Oliver Lieb actually was when he composed some of the early L.S.G. productions.
For instance just take a listen to Blueprint and you can hear alot of elements which were used in later progressive hits.
And that high frequence sounds in hearts which just eats up your sound system on high volume. This is all trance produced purely in a hardware studio with propably the biggest hardware freak in modern dancemusic history.
And what would the trance scene had been without guys like Oliver Lieb?
Fragile (1993)
Hearts (1994)
Blueprint (1994) |

It's very hard to pick, but Blueprint is probably the best L.S.G. track. And the Blueprint EP with Hearts makes a strong case for the best Oliver Lieb release, ever.
Hearts is downright magical, but Blueprint has a certain power to it. As cliched as it sounds, it really is pure trance. Love it, cherish it... they don't make 'em like that anymore. |

| Yeah, three classics in the true meaning of the word. I still rank Netherworld as the best L.S.G. track, but these aren't far behind. Trance the way it should sound, much different from the made today. |

It's a shame very few folks these days can see the yellow turtles.

| I agree that Hearts is one of his best, although I'd equate it with Pyrospice. All the same, we all are aware of Lieb's prominent position in the edm scene and his prodigious amount of quality tunes, so, not to rain on Rebel9's parade but, there is nothing new here. Sykonee, you really make me "snicker" - as you once put it - sometimes.. |

I must do something to amuse you, since you seem to be the only guy on here to comment on what I say. Could it be I have my very own TA stalker? :wtf:
*chortle*
Incidentely, considering how many times we have a new thread proclaiming the awesomeness of a Tiestin van Corstenfold production, it's nice to have a few threads singing the praises of music by the unsung soldiers to even things out. There's never a wrong time - wrong place for such threads. ;) |

| Hah I remember Hearts. It had to be around 1997 when i first heard blueprint and heart. For some reason I always think of the movie "The Abyss" when I first listened to hear. I dont know why. |

OMFG I ALMOST FORGOT.... Probably my FAVORITE oliver track of all time...
..released on December of 1999...god i remember listening to this over and over again......from the Spicelab 2000 EP - "TWO".
I swear I can hear alot of the progressive elements from this track in various Holden and Bedrock tracks...I swear...Unless I have been listening to that track over and over for almost 6 years now... |

no, one doesn't need to consider that as it goes without saying.

you may be right regarding your latter opinion, but 'unsong soldiers?' are you ing kidding me, incidentally** ??
The Lieb threads and stuff alluding to him here are innumerable. I've said it before and I'll say it again, save me the chortle. ;)
And, not to diverge from the topic, some others I like from Lieb:
Oliver Lieb - Subraumstimulation
Radical Impression - Traveller 1
L.S.G. - The Train of Thought 1.1 |
