maximum respect tathi! i wish we could have turned you away from the darkside and into Q3 :D
still, my initial comments remain. i think the weapons in UT were a little unbalanced, and some downright awful (and it is about fun after all) to use (and i aint no FPS noob!). i could never see myself getting done by a goo gun user 1v1 if i had the 3/5 chamber rocket launcher. im just too good with a rocket launcher you see :p. whereas in Q3 i think the weapons are beautifully balanced, and if youre a good player, you can get the better of someone regardless of what weapon youre carrying. i prefer a game where dominating the resources isnt necessarily gonna hand you the win.
please upload that vid tathi! im awfully curious!! :) :) |

You'd had to have played it to know otherwise :P the goo can be an extremely effective weapon if you're a sly and sneaky bastard. if you know your way around the shadows and are agile, taking down someone inexperienced who has the RL and shield belt would be easy ;)
I played a load of QIII aswelll, loved Rocket Arena, i was an expert with the rocket and the lightning and railgun, i actually prefered playing Q3 on lan with friends, but in competitions and online UT was no. 1 ;)
Aesthetic <3 Yes it was a long wank, but gaming brings out the nerd in me, thank god i quit gaming three years ago (still haven't installed one on my computer since) :P |

Q2 was my daily staple for years, but when Q3 came i lost interest... Q2 will always be the best multiplayer game ever! for me.
CS was fun to.

There are few demos about of some top 1v1 players pwning with just a goo gun...

The use of guns depends where you are situated on a map and the distance b/w you and your opponent... If you have rockets on Deck16 in the "Lift Area" theres more chance that you will pwn my barra ass if I had a shock rifle...Theres not much space for me to move... but out in the open space good ing luck with your rocket launcher... you would get pwned instantly with a shock rifle... Thats where you would switch to a sniper to 'headshot' me... because most people stand still when they are doing shock combos.... but to counter that I would do a moving combo..
so you would have to shoot my head as im dodging around.
The point of the post is - If you think certain weaopns are too powerful and youre getting pwned in a duel when your opponent is only using 1 weapon...? its probably because youre not switching to the proper weapon to counter.... |
