such negativity! doesn't gav kietel have a regular gig at a bowling alley?
besides, what's with all the angst about open decks anyways? The first time I had a real conversation with Steve Strangis and Chris Pana about DJing was at Altitude in March, when Chris had booked in for open decks. Nuera and I dropped in, but if Chris hadn't posted about it here on TA, I wouldn't have known about it, and hey, I went down, and I had a really good night.
this is a forum with a bunch of guys and girls who like to play records on it. if someone on here has a public venue that they'll be playing records at, i'd like to know about it, since I kinda like seeing people I know play records I like - even if the place they're playing at is free to get in to, and even if its a weeknight.
Considering how many people have 8+ line sigs full of inanity (yours is 20 lines, Paulie_C, and we all have to scroll by it after each post you make), whats wrong with 3-4 lines on a dance music forum, in a DJ's sig, describing where he or she can be seen playing in the upcoming weeks? What precisely is the issue, Paulie_C?
Have we forgotten what happens when a gig isn't properly publicised? *coughrougecough* ;)
Perhaps I'm the only one that feels this way? Is the common mood really that sigs can be filled with any kind of garbage we like, as long as the only gigs mentioned are paid gigs? |
