the original thread is over 4 years old. of the minor percentage of new people that post in that thread, the majority of us aren't reading it. that thread in my opinion is irrelevant to keep at the top. look at toronto, as big as they are, they don't even bother having one there and on one cares. its time to move on.

if people feel like they want to introduce themselves, there's no stopping them from making a thread about it all dedicated for themselves. there are far better ways to bring a community closer.

you guys can go ahead and make all the new intro threads you want but i ain't going to sticky it and thats final. no one wants to read 30-40 pages full of old intros that dates back years and years with members that we don't even know if they're dead or alive.

I agree, but, this also unclutters our fourms with people just introducing themselves. A new thread for every TA member? Most members that join a site a usually shy and liek to read what people are about before they just dive right in.

The thread at hand is a great way for new members to get the ball rolling for them. And although not many people post in there, there are people like myself and Apri, and more, that are always browsing in there wishing warm welcomes to TA.

Plus, it's a nice welcoming thread to see on the top, regardless what forums you're in. A WELCOME TO WCTA thread on top is very inviting to the unsuspecting eyes of a nOOb (<--that word always makes me laugh :stongue: ) Just because Toronto doesn't have it, doesn't mean we shouldn't. They already have hundreds upon hundreds of TA's in there. Their thread would be rammed packed with THOUSANDS of pages to read through.

As you said, our thread is like 4 years old... but there are new people in there all the time, and after 4 years... I'd consider it a staple in our forums.

"hey, don't know anybody here? read through the last 10 pages of our INTRO thread, see what people are all about. Hope you feel welcome on TA"

I dunno Mark, this is my campaign to get the thread stickied again.

Like I said it's a nice welcome mat at your door to your home.
WELCOME, C'MON IN

what kris said ^^

that intro thread is what TA is today. all those people who came and left and the other ones who stayed make up the scene today in vancouver, whether they are active or not on TA. WCTA is a section of its own, we are not here to model anybody else. a new member to the forums will not make a new thread introducing themselves, its human nature to be shy and not wanting to be banned on their first day.

that thread is more than relevant, its our history and im damn proud of that thread hanging at the top of the page like a sore thumb
