Miami-Dade Extends Curfew To Midnight; Broward To 11 p.m.

MIAMI -- Broward and Miami-Dade curfew laws are still in effect, but both are later than originally implemented.
Broward County's curfew was extended Thursday until 11 p.m.; Miami-Dade County's curfew was extended until midnight. Both curfews expire at 6 a.m. the following day.
The curfews have been implemented in an effort to curb crime and looting while Florida Power & Light works to restore power and county crews clean the roads of debris.
Law enforcement personnel are authorized under county ordinance to arrest violators. Those arrested face a fine of $500 and up to 180 days in jail.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez said Thursday that 87 curfew arrests had been made, including 37 overnight Wednesday. Alvarez said many of the arrests were made in the commercial district where people had no business being. |

| I heard the curfew is mostly for "suspicious" people. Plus there is no curfew on South Beach. Not sure how it is in Broward, as far as Dade is concerned I know people have been out and about looking for gas after curfew and no problems. I guess try not to look "suspicious" |

HURRICANE WILMA CURFEW HOURS
Dade: No one on the streets between the hours of 12 AM and 6 AM
Broward: No one on the streets between 11 PM and 6 AM
SPACE CURFEW OPTIONS
A. Get in before midnight and get out after 6 AM
B. Come to after hours after 6 AM
Don't get caught driving on the streets after 5 AM when regular clubs close down
Only Space gives you the option of going out on Saturday night without being fined and arrested
