theyre not really talking about race so much as they are talking about culture. as a multicultural society i think (sensible) discussions on culture are a must.

the only thing i would mention is that the islamic community should be extra vigilant for those bad apples that you and i have mentioned. not becoz they should be more responsible than any other australian, but moreso coz its in their best interests & they are more likely to experience those that do preach hatred & intolerance.
paulie, i can understand your perspective based on your experience. but you gotta get your head around the idea that the world is bigger than you, and your *limited* experience of these things should not be taken as ample evidence to promote the generalisations that you do. especially since one if much more likely to take note & remember a situation with negative consequences than neutral or positive. |

| yeah way I see it is the government has to do whatever necessary to bring in the new laws, as one unlucky chap dying by accident can work for the better good of potentially saving 100 others on another occasion. Harsh I know but then again what else in life isn't :P |
