These use brackish water that only runs for about six hours, spread over various parts of the day.

Its no indonesian jail we are sitting them in.

this is what im referring to. im not arguing whether they have running water or not. its like youre saying "oh, its an australian jail, thats perfectly ok". big fences surrounding various detention facilities, some of which are not much more than sheds sometimes in very hot conditions. they can be there many many years, with no hope, sometimes seeing their children grow up behind razor wire.

thats no way for a human being to live that wanted nothing more than to leave a painful existance and have some of the freedoms and opportunities we're so fvcking lucky to have.

"its no indonesian jail we are sitting them in" makes a mockery of the suffering of many incarcerated "illegal" immigrants.

no it doesnt because the people living on that island probably dont have running water either.

I used the indonesian jail system as an example to highlight that they could be living in worse conditions than australia.
