WeDance, Project Orange, and GEM are proud to present:
The Renaissance Frontiers CD Release Party
BEHROUZ
www.djbehrouz.com, Yooshi, S.F. (Extended 5 hour Set)
Renaissance are delighted to announce a brand new album series – ‘Frontiers’, a 2CD compilation that pits two DJs head to head with a unique, geographical twist with both heralding from different countries. The concept breathes a welcome air of originality into the compilation market, the perfect platform to showcase DJs, artistes, countries and the ever-expanding global world of dance. ‘Frontiers’ will be a platform for artists who, although a little too experienced to be classed as nu-skool, are still fresh and exciting; driving their respected genre in their own domestic scene forward and knocking down the door of the A-list.
No finer example could be found than their inaugural pair – Yousef and Behrouz. In contrast to Yousef's tough, jacking style, Behrouz stands out as a masterful exponent of all things deep and hypnotic. His DJing and production has become the toast of his U.S peers, most notably Danny Tenaglia and Deep Dish, the latter of which signed him to their lauded record label, Yooshi. Recent remixes for Narcotic Thrust and Cuba Computer are generating the kind of buzz that helped put his re-work of Narcotic’s first single, ‘Safe From Harm’ at the top of the Billboard dance chart, whilst his own productions (such as ‘Be Free’ as featured on ‘The Sound of Renaissance Vol. 2’) are met with equal anticipation. As a DJ he boasts residencies at two of the worlds best clubs, Ruby Skye in San Fran and the excellent Red Light in Paris and also plays a major part in Yooshi’s Pacha, Ibiza residence. Couple this with further guest appearances round Europe and the World, plus his American commitments to clubs such as Space, Miami and Crobar, New York and you have one of the hottest DJs on the planet. Little wonder he picked up nominations as ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ from the prestigious Dancestar organisation and ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Ibizan DJ awards in 2004.

San Francisco-based producer and long time dance music veteran, Behrouz Nazari, is difficult to label as he is like the music he creates and spins. “My sound is impossible to categorize but if I were to give it my best shot, I would describe it as a myriad of different subgenres of music I have experimented with during my past 20 years of DJ'ing. It's composed of sexy music incorporating the finer elements of deep house, tribal, and progressive beats, with a touch of electro and minimal techno,” Behrouz confesses. This being said, Behrouz has quickly become a highly respected DJ recognized worldwide for his groundbreaking headlining sets at such venues as Pacha in Ibiza, Space in Ibiza, Crobar in Miami, New York and Chicago, Ruby Skye in San Francisco and Red Light in Paris. Add to this his highly acclaimed productions, CD compilations and award nominations and you have found the recipe to success which has lead Behrouz to become a key player in the realm of the superstar DJ.
Over the course of his exciting career, Behrouz has traveled the world over playing alongside the industry's top DJ's including Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed, Carl Cox and Pete Tong just to name a few. In 2003, Tenaglia and Deep Dish named Behrouz “the DJ to watch” in DJ Magazine's annual “Top 100 DJ” issue. That same year, playing alongside Deep Dish and Danny Tenaglia, Behrouz was much-admired for his memorable set at Pacha Ibiza's closing party. Gaining notoriety throughout the industry quickly led to Behrouz being nominated for Best Breakthrough DJ at the 2004 Dancestar Awards held yearly in Miami during the Winter Music Conference, nominated for Best Breakthrough DJ at the 2004 DJ Awards in Ibiza and most recently Behrouz was nominated for Best Resident DJ at the 2005 Club World Awards for his famous Pure Behrouz residency at Ruby Skye in San Francisco.
In the studio, Behrouz has been equally triumphant. In 2003 he completed touring for the highly successful Yooshi 2 “In House We Trust” CD series (receiving praise from both his peers and dance music publications) and performed at over 50 venues in a span of four months. A prolific producer, Behrouz's “Safe From Harm” remix was among 2002's most popular tracks (“Safe From Harm reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart that same year) and his original production “Azab” is featured on Carl Cox's compilation CD “Fact-Australia”. Moreover, his Yooshi remix “Feel So Good” was featured on Deep Dish's Global Underground 025 Toronto CD. Recently Behrouz just completed two new remixes intended on being released just in time for the 2005 Winter Music Conference in Miami that are sure to be dubbed as the best of 2005: a fantastic remix of Cuba Computer's “Haunting Me” and his new remix of Narcotic Thrust's “When the Dawn Breaks” (both currently being played by Deep Dish and receiving a huge buzz).
