yeah it was definitely different, splitting the characters was interesting and he also did a whole lot of building toward events that will be unleashed in books to come. its all smouldering away nicely. i cannot wait until 'a dance with dragons' comes out there are so many unanswered questions |

Oh wow. I just finished feast for crows. This series has seriously been a pivotal part of my reality for the last few months, it's so weird for it to suddenly end.
I agree about the 4th book. It is a lot slower and there is less of a build up, but that being said I really liked the fact that Martin did that. It slowed the pace right down from the 3rd book(s) and started opening you up to new characters/places such as Dorne and Arya in that place... it's name alludes me.
