I know there's been enough threads about this, so i'm just going to post my remix up for download in case if anyone wants it. I tried my best with this, but to be honest, I wasn't too inspired with the melody in the first place and just churned out a so-so remix (in my own opinion)
If you want, leave some feedback and that would be great, but i'm not desperate for any since the judges gave me a lot of great feedback and it's probably better if you spend your time leaving feedback to other people in this forum who probably would benefit from it more.
Anyways, enjoy. :)
FYI, I placed 4th with 131.5/160

I know what you mean. I just hope next time they pick something easier to work with!

Your intro sounds refreshing from the cliche phrase of beats + bassline, and etcetera. What did you use for the bassline? That synth sound very familiar and I can't quite put my finger on it. :p
I'm liking those subte percussions in the break.
The melody I'm not really impressed with. So far I've yet to hear anyone really manage anything impressive with it. It really was hard to work with!
Overall sound was alright, but sometimes it got a bit chaotic and I had a hard time making out the instruments and FX. |

| I love the atmosphere, m one complaint is the VERY high synth in the very beginning. Other than that, I like you sounds and pads. Did you use absynth? Anyways, I love your bassline, what device did you use to make the lightbass line, that's backed by the heavy subbass. Although the song is very catchy and you executed this rather well, I didn't like that there was a small lack of energy torwards the first minute of it. Other than that you mold your synths very well. The breakbeat back this song very well.I actually like the feel of the bassline like I stated before, and I'm dying to know what you used for it. |

Really cool phased breaks in the intro. Very original. I love the pads, too.
Your percs are very complex. +1
Good bassline.
I love your breaks in the build-up.
Bleh, kick-roll. Totally didn't need that.
Ending is some fun with filters.
Sound very professional to me. Not much was done to personalize the melody, though. Regardless, it was fun to listen to. |

The bassline is actually the VB-1 Synth found in Cubase and the ppd-Tritium (free synth) for the high rolling bass.
Thanks for your comments...
I actually am finding myself totally agreeing with your statements... Lot of things I could have improved on but didn't... Oh well hehe.. next time ;) |

I like the breaks in the intro and the pads! Bass and percs go well together. I'm not sure wether I liked the change you did to the main melody or not. Overall sound is great but it's not that interresting. It's allright with the breaks and such, but there is something... Maybe its the 1.5 points!
j/k ;) |
