Classic Compilations: Capcom Classics Collection/Megaman Anniversary Collection

DJ RJT

I rarely think "nostalgia" releases are worth a purchase, but these two compilation sets are amazing. "Capcom Classics Collection" is a must own just for Arcade PERFECT ports of Street Fighter 2, Final Fight, Bionic Commando, MERCS, and the Ghouls & Ghosts/Ghosts & Goblins series.

As far as the Megaman Anniversay Collection goes, I guess it only applies if you liked the series in the first place, but if you did, it's totally worth the purchase. It's funny to me that playing Megaman 2 again is without a doubt worth the $19.99 purchase on it's own, but add to that you get Megaman 1-8 and two unreleased Megaman arcade games, and it's basically the sickest retro-gaming collection I've played.

Both these games should be able to be purchased for less than $20, and will provide a LOT of gameplay time, it's especially cool to be able to play the multiplayer modes in all the arcade classics...

Bottom line: for both of these titles... If you grew up in the 8-bit generation of gamers like I did (w00t for growing up NES!) definitely check these out...

God... I'm such a in' fanboy...

$20 bucks is a frickin steal...

but i still gotta give it up to the dreamcast. you can get all those games fo' free without the need for a modchip.

w00t for dreamcast (playing earthbound right now)

Yeah, gotta love the DC... but I will say this, the ports/minor updates to these games are worth the cash. They run so smooth, and have been updated in very subtles ways that, when taken on the whole, add up to a sweet package...

The "hot swap" weapon feature alone spread through the MM disc is worth the $20....

Not really, I mean they look sharper, but the emulation is so perfect that there is actually less slowdown/flaws in the games than in the originals...
