DJ Yanix (Trance), DJ Christin (Trance), DJ Cornelius (DnB) and DJ Mayop (me, probably playing some prog) - DJ Yanix is from St. Louis, the other three are locals. All are good.

We're throwing our third Teknikalmeltdown which has proven to be a good time every time so far. Come on out for a rowdy night. The event is on Friday, Sept. 23rd. Doors open at 9:00 PM, and the party goes till 2:30 AM. I'm opening for these guys, so come early : )

Big speakers, great music, and it's free.

Website with directions here:

Anyone who was there last year, please vouch for this event!

Yeah I was there for the entire series! The music was amazing, and the vibes were great. Those guys like totally work the floor.

I give it a 5 stars! :happy2:

Seriously considering going to this! But I need someone to convince me that it is worth the 3 hour trip to, and the 3 hour trip from, Dayton, Ohio. :)

Keep in mind that it would be my first event.
mayop
In my totally UNBIASED opinion... : ) you should come. There'll be good choons and should be a pretty decent crowd. 3 hours is a bit of a drive though, as this is a college event, and a small college at that, in Terre Haute. I'm not sure how this would measure up as a first event... we can't compare to Paul Van Dyk at House of Blues, but we aren't really trying to.

Oh... there's also gonna be free glowsticks :-P Thats definetely worth the gas money.

I'd say if you can get some freinds to come too, make a road trip of it. If you'd be coming by yourself though, it's prob not worth that long of a drive.

What type of convincing do you need? If you want to check out the music, the local djs spin on Tues, Thurs, and Fri night. Since the event is on Fri, Fri may be a bit late to check out the music. go to
www.wmhdradio.org and listen in from 10pm to 12mid on Tues and Thurs. There may be tracklist posted on the forum. The venue itself is cozy.

convince your friends to come so that you can save on gas :toothless

and yay!!! glowsticks!!! :happy2:

Actually... this will convince you to get some people together and come on down here if we haven't convinced you already. This is a clip from Teknikalmeltdown I.

I think it speaks for itself.

I'm listening to the mp3 now, sounds like good stuff!

I think me and a couple buddies are gonna show up... it will be our first time for all of us.

Is there a decent lightshow there?
mayop
No, just the basics. Good lighting is really expensive.

Oh yeah, a couple more questions:

1.) Where is the best place to park? I'm looking at the campus map.

2.) No alcohol eh? :( Is there some kind of snack bar or place to get soda or something?

3.) Does anyone happen to have pics of the inside and/or outside of the building so we know what to expect? (A lot to ask probably but figured someone might....)

4.) Are we allowed to have still cameras?

5.) How will I know where to find my fellow T/A's?? ;-)
mayop
There's a map here that shows where you can park. The campus isn't particularly big so its at most a 5-10 minute walk no matter where you park.

No alcohol, because it is on a college campus. There's a subway in one of the dorms if you're hungry. Otherwise, Terre Haute has plenty of bars. And there will be water there of course.

Not sure where to find a pic of the building. It's rather non-descript, but ask anyone where the union is and they'll send you to it... then just follow your ears.

of course you can bring a camera. knock yourself out : )

3 of the DJ's are TA'rs. Other than that, I know who's gonna be there as well as you do. Judging by the activity on this thread so far we probably wont have many.

david.michael
Sounds great! I'll be there with at least 2 other friends.
