I'm in the wrong profession
|

last thursday on my way home from class i passed by the hotel zaza (which is home of the infamous dragonfly bar and also some of the priciest rooms in the metroplex). outside, in front of course, was a ferrari f-50 AND a ferrari enzo. the enzo alone has a price tag at about a million. this isnt rare. lamborghinis, bentleys, rolls royces, maseratis, aston martins and yes, ferraris are literally an every day thing. part of this has to do with the location of where i live, but i mean, what do these people do as a profession that drive these things? it blows my mind.
if anyone knows any jobs that are hiring grad students to the tune of 250-300K a year, let me know. :) |

Should have went to medical school, once you find a job, starting salaries could be as high as in the millions depending on what youre doing, surgeons tend to be the highest paid, but they also pay the most in medical/malpractice insurance coverage. |

True. But the problem with that path is the amount of time involved. There's the 4ish years of med school where you take classes and whatnot. But afterwards, you do a residency where you work long hours with extremely ty pay. Depending on your profession, residency can last from 3-8 years (you can bet that surgery will take the full 8 years). And after that, you get paid six digits. But by then, you'd probably be married and spend all the money on supporting your kids. Boo.
For an easier path, be a pharmacist. Sure, you'll be nothing but a drug selling monkey with no respect, but they make around 100-200k per year for doing something so ridiculously easy. |

I know what you mean man. I really do wish I could live a lifestyle where you never have to worry about overspending, budgetting or debt. I see these bastards on the travel channel that go anywhere in the world, go to any restaurant, store, club, whatever...and money never being an issue. They can just go, do whatever and simply relax and enjoy.
And the sad thing is most of em never had to work hard for that fortune, trust fund or whatever silver spoon they were born with [/end rant] |

Words of a wise, rich man:
"The best way to make money, is not to spend it."
As professions, I'm currently in Information/Computer Security.
I'm new to the scene and not making that much but most of my friends in Info/Comp. Security are making over six digits.
9/11 and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 have also helped raise our salaries.
You just need a degree, a couple of certifications and skills.
I recommend this to anyone in IT or prior military. |

Skills being the operative word. I'm so sick of cleaning up after so-called knowledgeable people. Just cause you take a test and pass doesn't mean you know your . I'm so amazed that these people even get hired half the time. |

I agree, you spend alot of time in school and by the time youre out, chances are youre starting or already have a family, but you are happy in the end nonetheless. You have a beautiful wife, great kids and enough money to wipe your ass with.
Im in school to be a Neurologist or Nuclear Medicine Physician... |

The degree and certifications get you the interview and usually the job.
The skills help you keep the job once you get it.

I have to agree.
If you do get married, I recommend having different bank accounts. You spend the money you make and she spends hers. It worked out well with my ex-wife. Oh and we didn't break up because of money. |
