AMD or P4 for producing...
dj_alfi
What do u prefer?
If we rule out Mac's, since they are , and nobody really likes them anymore..

Intel are not the way to go right now. All there new processor are and they are saying it them self if you fallow internet news a bit.

Intel Dual core are a mistake and AMD are better Intel them self said it
Intel 64 bits are a lot slower then AMD 64 bits cause Intel didn't find the right architecture and there processor are over heating compare to AMD that are really low in temperature when they are working.

Right now AMD is the way to go a years ago it was Intel. Thing change fast.

Go with Athlon 64's theyre much cheaper than P4's and a LOT more powerful.

Never mind their hyper threading, we have HYPER TRANSPORT!!!!

I wouldn't rule out Macs - they're worth it just for Logic alone.

But between the Athlon 64 and the P4, definitely the Athlon 64. It's a joke to even compare them.

also depens on the speed of the processors, and 64 is mentioned cause the other AMD processors are out..

Two reasons for Pentium in my lowly opinion:

1. It is the most solid infrastructure for running Windows based systems, since much of the underlying application code is optomized for use on the intel chipset. For practicality, hyperthreading is your friend.

2. In the near future macs will run on intel chips. This means that you will be able to triple boot one computer with MacOS, Windows, and Linux. You can even share the files between each if you use FAT32.

But really, who cares which chip you use? They'll both get the job done. :p

That was true before. It not like this anymore.

The next Windows (Windows Vista) that will be out in a year and that will be 64 bits is taking AMD processor to make the code. Just to show you how it's getting big.

All Adobe programm have been rewrited in there last version to be as fast on AMD that intel.

AMD is really kicking intel ass right now. Intel have a big problem heat dicipation. There processor are at a high 55 to 60C compared to 38 40C for AMD it a big difference.
