booo!!!
.1% gets very annoying after a while.. just get serato or fs2!!
if ur gonna buy cd players, at least get some proper ones..
check out the pioneer cmx-3000, its dual and its .05 at least
or just get 2 cdj200s for trance.. dont sell decks!!! |

ouch. that bad, huh?
i thought cdj200's were .1% also
i just like the fact that i can download all the latest tracks via beatport, quickly, easily, and cheaply. that, and since cdj'ing is becoming the norm nowadays, it just seems like the natural progression. dns-1000's are that bad though, huh? i figured 250 a deck is a damn good deal |

make sure you archive you vinyl first... you'll regret it if you don't. at least you'll have something to play.
i would go for something better than the dns1000. i think .1% is almost ok. it's not crappy, but it's not great either. i have the dnd4500, and w/the pitch control set 10% i generally spend more time correcting the pitch, than i do w/techs. -some songs stay together like if were mixing on techs, but 95% of the time, i'm definately riding the pitch more than i do w/the techs.
then again, the pitch control is a little wierd on mine. you have to move the fader a bit before it shows the change on the screen. and sometimes it goes by .1% incremtents, some time .2%.
if you can afford something w/a higher resolution, go for it. |

| well, money is an issue and 500 seems like a steal. to be honest, the main reason i want cd players is because of the pitch bend buttons- it makes mixing sooo much easier. but then again, if the pitch increment is .1%, mixing would be much harder, right? |

not MUCH harder, it's bad like mixing on beltdrives. but it's *NOT* as tight as techs.
i would agree w/dino, it DOES or will get annoying.
try one out if you can. take a cd's w/you to guitar center or something.
if money is an issue, save. don't mean to sound rude or disrespectful. but i almost had to completely stop eating, in order to save up for the crap i have now. and i'm glad i did. if would have bought other TT's, or carts. i would still be wondering what if, and then be mad at myself because i didn't.
i've adopted the "buy it once, buy it right." philosophy. it's hard, but i'm very happy w/results. you don't have to buy top of the line the first time around. just don't settle for bottom feeder stuff, you'll regret it. |

it can't possibly be as bad as mixing on belt drives?!?!? most cd decks have near-instant start and responsive pitch sliders, right? unlike belt-drives.... |

even tho the beltdrives i was mixing on at home for about 5years didn't match, they still had 'responsive pitch sliders'. true, the torque sucks, so cueing is constant headache. but they were moody also. the pitch wavered constantly. you always had to stay on top of them to correct them. <- this is the main reason why i comprared mixing on dns1000/dnd4500 to mixing on belt drives. if you are used to mixing on techs, these TT's are as close as you can get to "set and forget" when it comes to beatmatching. then you will denfinately be unhappy riding out mixes on the dns1000. you will be forced to spend more time correcting, and less time mixing, and doing tricks. |

the cdj200s are .02 btw..
500 might look like a steal but after being around a LOT of cheap cd decks.. its just not worth it to buy cheap, ive seen so many die.
im sure the denons are great but i dunno, i guess im just partial to pio when it comes to cd decks.. |

| well i have the cdj-100s which have a 0,1% pitch for about 6 years now and while you can definitely mix on them, it is indeed annoying on those mixings where you constantly have to pitch it up or down every couple of seconds for that perfect mix. I'd say... if those are really a bargain and you're in a hurry, go for it, you'll mix on them as well, you just have to go there adjust it more often. But for some more money you can get the cdj-200s and they already have 0,02, i'd go for those if i were you! |
