The DnB series "Ambush" continues....for The Progression Sessions long awaited return to Atlanta w/ DB @ an all new 18+ venue The Loft Atlanta!!
((AMBUSH))
Featuring...
LTJ BUKEM
(Progression Sessions Tour, Good Looking Organisation, U.K.)
Ground breaking DJ? Talented musician? Pioneering producer? Record label boss? Dance music entrepreneur? Club visionary, perhaps? When the man behind those wire rimmed glasses and that disarming smile writes his job description just what does he put? The man who took the drum and bass concept from a small venue off London's Charing Cross Road to the nation's super clubs and then onto the international stage? The guy whose records launched break beat into a brand new galaxy of sound? Or maybe he just writes 'Renaissance man for a digital age'. In truth LTJ Bukem is all of the above. Although he wouldn't like to admit it, LTJ Bukem is the living embodiment of the post-acid house entrepreneurial creative spirit. He is a mild mannered energy flash whose panoramic musical vision has found success in every area he has explored. From running sound systems to cutting up breaks at raves, from relocating the heart of break beat culture to redefining the spirit of drum and bass, the man known to his friends as Danny Williamson has sat at the forefront of break beat evolution, lighting the way with his zest for life and a love of music.
With releases still coming on strong from the drum and bass labels of Good Looking Records and Looking Good Records, from the downbeat, nu-jazz Cookin' label, from the seminal sounds of the Earth imprint and in 04’, from the launch of the new Deep House label, Deep Rooted, the work is well and truly cut out for LTJ Bukem… but he still cuts it.
Bukem is tireless in pushing the boundaries of dance music and with unprecedented experience in dance music comes responsibility. Today he is a figurehead for the RNID (Royal National Institute for the Deaf) testing cutting edge technology to prevent tinnitus whilst promoting safe listening for both clubbers and DJs, check www.hearingprotection.co.uk for more information.
All that remains to be said is that after 13 years since Good Looking’s inception, Bukem remains at the forefront of the game – and to no great surprise the future’s looking good.
To continue the on going tradition...this set will be recorded for a potential release as a Progression Sessions live from Atlanta compilation.
Please welcome back The Progression Sessions to Atlanta for another amazing night of music.
MC CONRAD
(Progression Sessions Tour, Good Looking Organisation, U.K.)
One of the most original MC's in the World....his raps bring together thoughts pulled from all aspects of life, personally organized to complement the music and connect with the people listening.
Always pushing the boundaries with his own standards, Conrad continued to develop his style and content. We are pleased to have Conrad as the master of the ceremonies for the Progression Sessions.

DB
Arriving in New York from London in '89, it could be said that no one has done more for Drum & Bass in America than DB. First with his hardcore Breakbeat club NASA, then by launching Sm:)e communications and releasing the first Jungle singles & compilations in the U.S, as well as signing DJ Dara, thus kick starting his artist career. He & Dara then opened Breakbeat Science, dedicated to Drum & Bass, It quickly become not only the most respected record store & label, but also the very epicenter of the jungle community in the u.s. Having recently "10", his tenth mix cd in ten years, he is now working on an artist album with dj Stakka, focusing on the more musical side of the genre, which as a dj, is what DB has become best loved for.

| I'm debating on going to this one. It is going to be a brand spanking new club. And it's always fun to see MC Conrad smoke a doobie on stage while Bukem's throwing down some kickin' breaks. |

I've never seen Bukem and a dude at Moondogs (Georgia Tech's bar in buckhead) told me to see him the next time he's in town. For the uninitiated, moondogs is about as country/fratty as a bar can get so finding someone who likes dance music was a pretty big shock. Anyway, i'd go to this. Besides, the loft could be cool! |
