it basically upsamples everything that comes out of you speakers.
Most data which you play will be 16bits, but this new card, takes that audio and applies some crazy math(none of which i understand) and trys to make it sound like 24bit sound.
so...the card makes everything sound better. :D
I have read good reviews too. I have an Audigy 2 ZS, and I will probably upgrade when this comes out. I think I saw a list price of about $120USD for just the card. If you want the pro or platinum versions, be prepared to pay up to $600USD.
I just hope they improved the amp on this card, because with the Audigy2, i got terrible hiss when it was turned up. |
