He also used to play hip-hop/pop music in the early 90's, maybe even into the mid 90's. |

c'mon Maytag
ive seen you up and about every now and then on the boards.
its time to pop your ATL cherry:crazy: |
Yeah, I know... it's not quite as easy as it once was when I was a 20-something (I have a hard enough time staying up to DJ from 10pm to 3am on Saturdays). That's a helluva long drive from the SAV to the ATL... plus I just got a weekly residency playing teh prog down here every Saturday, so it's going to be even tougher to make it up unless I take a night off (Marco would be one of the few DJ's I would take off for).
Maybe once I my raises at work go thru (big raise coming this fall via the local union hall) I can afford to grab a hotel and stay up there for a weekend and check things out. I'd love to meet up with ya'll and get to know some of ya (I still tend to check the Chicago/Midwest forums here more often since I know many of them). |

The last time I saw Marco play was at Spundae Chicago about a year or so ago, and I walked in right after he started and he was playing some pretty deep dark progressive house. He started off a long set (midnight to 4am) with that and got more into some standard prog house a bit later on, moving to some electro, then banged out the tech trance. It was an awesome set and it was rare to see a DJ have the versatility to play such a range of sounds in one night. So many bigger DJ's seem to be one trick ponies that play that one type of sound (usually doing it VERY well) but don't really venture into anything else.
Anyway, hopefully nothing much has changed since I saw him last, but I do know that he wants to broaden his music spectrum a bit and not become routine and predictable (ie tailoring his sets to the crowd, city, etc). |
