4. With respect to Canadian content levels, the applicant made a commitment that 38% of all musical selections drawn from category 2 (Popular music ) broadcast during each broadcast week would be devoted to Canadian selections. The applicant also made a commitment that 38% of all category 2 musical selections broadcast between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, would be Canadian. 38% Canadian content? Way too high.

The station is doomed to fail before it even begins.

not getting my hopes up.

have a feeling that the majority of the programing will be very similar to that of 103.5

This looks fishy to me, I got this in an e-mail a few days ago.

1. There was no application call from the CRTC for Toronto.

2. 104.9FM as of right now can not be licensed because it's still in the protected contours of 104.5 CHUM FM. Industry Canada, the people who actually assign frequancies were planning to change the rules a bit for this to be allowed but it hasn't happend yet.

3. The channel code (channel 285A) does not match the amount of power they were licensed to broadcast with. The A sympol at the end of the channel tells me that the station is licensed to broadcast with a wattage of more than 1000 watts.

4. If this is a Toronto station I'm surprised the Evanov Group, owners of Z 103.5 didn't file an intervention. As this type of station with a transmitter in Toronto would surelly cause them business. Which takes me back to point number 1.

5. My Broadcasting Corporation, deals with native stations why would day dip into dance music.

Overall it looks to me like someone took CRTC decission number 2005-366 http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/D.../db2005-366.htm and just changed some words around. Nice try.
