Right on, we have our own board now.
So whats the delio? Is it business as usual with us posting events on the sticky then two weeks out a formal post can be made?
Best,

Well let's discuss it here. I understand the promoters position to get their party how to all the readers. On the same token, the readers don't want to see a list of parties months ahead. So I'm still leaning towards 2 weeks before the party and posting later parties in the events thread.
Another issue under discussion is bumping threads. It's a nebulous area about what is or is not a bump. The way I see it is, and feel free to disagree, a bump is when the promoter posts something like, "this party will be great!" or "i'm really excited!". Opinion posts that really provide no addition information about the party. What I feel can be allowed is posts where new additional information is added, such as "we've added additional sound for this party" or answering questions about timeslots and what not. The way I see this can be abused is if the promoter specifically knows the info but chooses to withhold it for the purpose of bumping. The only exception will be when the party is a day away. Go ahead and remind people it's coming.
How does everyone feel about this policy? |

I like it... I know I always check the events thread for shows that are a bit away and it has worked out great for me. I like our current rules on the subject. As far as bumping.... I think all that should be said is no bumping event threads. It is the discression of the mod as to if that type of thing is going on and clearify it on a case by case basis. |
