What would people recommend for a LoveParade afterparty, the main one at the Bill Graham auditorium or the one at 1015 w/PVD? I heard the PVD one would be going until sunrise Sunday morning, is this true? |
Yup, from 9PM-9AM. Just bought my ticket and will try to stay there for the full 12hrs. |

| Anyone have an idea as to when PvD will spin and for how long? This would help out anyone trying to make BOTH BGCA and ten15 that night... |

I asked about this and have been told Cameras WILL BE ALLOWED. It even says in big fat print right on the flyer.
Trying to tell them to change what it says on Groovetickets. |

Trying to be unbiased here:
First, this is a real tough decision if I had to make one....because of how ticket prices are going up so fast. The Bill Graham event ends at 4am and the Ten15 event ends at 9am.
Both lineups are stellar, but other than PvD, Ten15 has a much more prog/housey/some breaks lineup while Bill Graham has a much bigger Trance and D&B lineup when all is said and done although it does have like Carl Cox, DJ Dan, and Bad Boy Bill so don't think house/techno is being ignored.
At Ten15, you'll get the club atmosphere, crazy lights, I imagine Kryo this night, etc, but at the same time it's going to be a sardine fest because the place is going to be SOOOOOOOOOO f'in packed. PvD by himself makes Ten15's main room one of the most uncomfortable places I've ever been to. It's just crushing. At Bill Graham you'll have the crazy massive atmosphere, lasers everywhere, and probably a much friendlier crowd overall. But sometimes the massive experience isn't so intense compared to the more intimate club experience.
In the end, I really wish both sides would announce time slots...or mainly just Ten15, because for all we know PvD would be playing from like 4am - 8am or something and then buying tickets to both would be possible. Go to Bill Graham until 4am then run over to Ten15 and party as the sun rises.
I'll be at Bill Graham because I'm helping out Spundae...but if personally had to choose just from a lineup persective...well, I'd still choose Bill Graham. If I had to choose from the experience perspective...I'd probably still choose Bill Graham, because I can't enjoy listening to music while my lungs are being crushed at the same time. |

I agree with Dave on this one. The last two times of PvD@ten15(the first one is when I actually met and hung out with Dave... remember Rich who used to live only a block away from ten15?), it was ridiculously packed. It made some who aren't even claustrophobic, uncomfortable. I ended up leaving early because it was no fun listening to good music but being shoved around by the sheer number of people.(rude crowd or not)

Agreed. But I am thinking that it would be too packed at ten15 even before the 4am post-Bill Graham crowd. I purchased my tix for BG already. The ticket prices are going up fast.

| Yep, I remember that night with the preparty at Rich's. So much fun. We ended up going to the EndUp after everything until like... , like all day, lol. I was drunk for like three days straight that weekend....non-stop, like 2 hours of sleep total. Oi. |

Just found this link at the Love Parade SF website:
OFFICIAL LOVE PARADE SF AFTERPARTY SITE
http://skillsdjworkshop.com/lpafterparty/
Full event info, directions, DJ lineup & more!
If anyone needs a hotel room, I would now recommend the Hotel Chancellor in Union Square. I read a lot (o.k., more than a lot) of reviews online and the manager actually replies back to guest's problems or complaints! By contrast, I emailed another nearby hotel to get reservation information and they never even replied back (it's been 5 days now, so not holding my breath either)!

Hotel Chancellor is also listed on Love Parade SF's site as a partner, so I feel good about supporting them while they're supporting the Love Parade! |

After making my reservation, I asked the manager of the Chancellor about the Love Parade partner promotion. He invited anyone interested in staying at the Chancellor to email him at wtyler@chancellorhotel.com (or call the hotel and ask for Wes Tyler) and mention the Love Parade for a special discounted rate. If you click on the Chancellor from Love Parade's website, it's just a regular link to the hotel, so by contacting the hotel directly as mentioned above you'll get the better rate. One other thing, the Chancellor is a completely non-smoking hotel (another reason I'm staying there!)
Just for the record, I don't have any affiliation with this hotel...just sharing what I think is a good value and passing along the reviews of many people who have stayed there so that you can make an informed choice if you should need a hotel while in SF.
Love Parade 2005 here we come...hope to see you there! :D |

| damn, VIP tickets??? I already purchased my general tickets and now I hear about this VIP ! well, does the VIP ticket offer free water all night long? And will it be possible in any way to get autographs and pictures taken with the DJ's without the VIP ticket? Either way, I think my navigation skillz will still have to be set to a dedicated threshold cuz I got about 5 cd covers that need to be signed!! hah! wish me luck. btw, how the hell do I post my pic under my user name?? |

If you get a hotel, just park at the hotel (might be valet)...you'd get the cheapest rate. Otherwise, you'd have to find a 24 hour garage which are helllaa expensive. |
Is there a place just to park during the parade? I'm planning on attending the 1015 afterparty so do you think I can just park my car around the alley areas on Folsom st. and leave it there for the whole day? I was also thinking about taking BART from Pleasonton, leave my car at Pleasonton station and party all day and all night in SF then go home on Sunday at 9AM (when 1015 closes). Is this possible? I have never used the BART system so don't know if I have to pay for parking there, the hours of operation, etc? I was gonna get a cheap motel around the parade area just so I can park, but also shower and get dressed after the parade to attend 1015 but seems like all the motels are booked. |
